Daily Activities
Week 1, 11/8 to 11/12

(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

This is the first week of the second quarter. Everyone gets a fresh start to get all A's again!

Progress Reports will be sent home Friday with the 1st quarter final grades! I'm also sending a November newsletter along with a sample Yellow Plan. I even printed a 2nd quarter progress report so that students can see what they are missing after the first week. Don't get used to this. The next progress report for 2nd quarter will come on time, on December 10.

Math

Monday - Today we will check problem 5.3 and begin problem 5.4.
HW - None
Tuesday - Today we will finish problem 5.4 and begin problem 5.5.
HW - ACE #5.
Wednesday - No math today for early release.
HW - None
Thursday - No school, Veteran's Day.
HW - None
Friday - Today we will check ACE #5. Then we will finish problem 5.5.
HW - Make sure you binder is in order with all the problems we did in class and all the warm-ups as well. You may also begin studying for Wednesday's test (Investigations 4 and 5).

Science

Monday - As students take notes on Ch 12, sections 1 and 3, I will continue to train them on their jobs. (Today I had to help the probes groups but I at least got a chance to show the kit groups their kits.)
HW - None
Tuesday - We didn't have science today to watch a special Veteran's Day video about WWII.
HW - None
Wednesday - Today we will continue science during our social studies time (to make up for the switch I made during the last early release).
As students take notes on Ch 12, sections 1 and 3, I will continue to train them on their jobs. (The probes groups are ready. They even got to practice and collect data on tap water. The kits groups got to read their labs and make sure all their chemicals were there and ready to go.)

Thursday - No school, Veteran's Day.

Friday - As students take notes on Ch 12, sections 1 and 3, I will continue to train them on their jobs. (Today the kits groups will practice using their kits on tap water.)

Language Arts

Monday - Dreamweaver Lesson 2 review and begin lesson 3.

Tuesday - Dreamweaver Lesson 3 review and begin lesson 4.
HW - None
Wednesday - Dreamweaver Lesson 4 review & 5.

Thursday - No school, Veteran's Day.
HW - None
Friday - Today I will pass back all the student work that I still have (I do need to have their Giver and Day of the Dead essays back though). I will pass out progress reports with the first quarter final grades as well as a second quarter update of the first week. We also discussed what is on the Nov Newsletter that is attached to progress reports as well as learning about the Yellow Plan.

Social Studies
Monday - We will finish watching The Mayan video and students will complete their Video Debrief sheet.
HW - None
Tuesday - Today is our weekly Second Step lesson. Second Step was cancelled so we just worked on our Dreamweaver lesson.
HW - None
Wednesday - No social studies today due to early release.
HW - None
Thursday - No school, Veteran's Day.
HW - None
Friday - Today is our library day.
HW - None

Student Tech Corps - 3rd period

Monday - Today we will try to finish Unit 4, lesson 5 and take the quizzes.
HW - None
Tuesday - No tech corps today, students had P.E. with Mr. Olafson.
HW - None
Wednesday - We need to work some more on Lesson 5 and finish the quizzes. We will also go over the Practice Assessment.
HW - None
Thursday - No school today (Veteran's Day).
HW - None
Friday - We will finish Unit 4 today.
HW - I encouraged students to talk to you, their parents, this weekend and consider taking the tests for certification. Really the only students who shouldn't at least try to take the tests are those who do not like technology and just can't fix things. If you just want to get better at fixing technology glitches, take the tests and if you get certified you become part of a team of learners. I will be here on the testing dates (the first and second weeks of December after school) to help students and they can use their notes! So go for it!!
