1:1 iPad Program Proposal

Back in December when I heard there was interest in starting a 1:1 iPad program in my district I jumped on the idea. I got with the middle school teachers (all nine of us) and I asked if they wanted to pilot a 1:1 program in our school. Everyone was on board so I started drafting a proposal. While working on our district tech committee we decided to have teachers and teacher teams draft proposals for the tech they wanted to use in their classrooms so that we can recommend which projects to fund based on those who are using best teaching practices. We could help teachers in our district think about how they want to transform their teaching instead of just the tech they want!

I thought of using an application template from a CenturyLink grant. In order to put that to the test, I put together the following proposal (even though it wasn’t my first time using this application template since I’ve applied for this grant twice before – and here’s a direct link to the Google Doc displayed below):

I also put together this video to go along with the proposal so that people can see examples of things that can be done with an iPad (and other devices) in a 1 to 1 classroom environment.

I hope to present this in August to see if we can’t start preparing to implement it for the 14-15 school year.
