Snow News

Wow, I still can’t believe that we’ve had so much snow and that it’s still so cold that the snow is not melting! The first trimester has been extended to Wednesday, December 6. Students in my classes that are still making up work can turn it in as late as Wednesday.

In my 6th grade science classes we are wrapping up lesson 6. I have been helping students get lesson 6 done well enough to start the 2nd Trimester with a good grade (lesson 6 is the first graded assignment for the 2nd Trimester). There is no excuse for not doing well on lesson 6 as I have given students ample time, I have helped them get their data, and I have even provided data for those who couldn’t get their own. I have been warning students for several class periods that this is their first graded assignment and have encouraged them to get their work done. If your child gets a low grade on this lab either he or she missed a lot of class or he or she just socialized and wasted time instead of working.

In my 7th grade science class we are finishing our Floating Crayons lab. Students are using the Inquiry Boards to put their data into a raw data table and then graph their data. Once we make our conclusions, students will share their data. This lab will be our first 2nd Trimester graded assignment. All else is due by Wednesday, December 6.

My 8th graders have until Wednesday to finish and upload their websites. Check the Computer Graphics and Web Design website after Wednesday for links to all the student websites!
